Michael and his wife, Leslie, have resided in La Quinta since 2013 and they have an adult son. He obtained his Bachelors of Art degree in Economics and Political Science from Bemidji State University. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, reading economic and market periodicals. He was formerly a board member of the Boys & Girls Club as well as a Paul Harris Rotary Fellow.
